PLEASE NOTE: This will not fix any other problem with your device than the one described below. For issues other than described below, please contact support@ultraleap.com.
A batch of Leap Motion Controller 2 devices were briefly available at our distributors that had incorrect calibrations applied. This results in hand tracking not working when trying to use the device.
These devices have been pulled from sale, but if you managed to purchase one before sales were halted you will need to run the following tool to fix your device.
How do I know if I need to run the reset tool?
If you plug in your Leap Motion Controller 2 and open the Ultraleap Control Panel in either V5 Gemini or V6 Hyperion, you will be greeted with one of the following views from your camera.
This shows that you have an incorrect calibration on your device. By default the camera view should be in the following orientation and should correctly detect hands:

Unzip the folder and double click leap2_factory_reset.exe. Please read the included instructions.txt file for usage instructions.
If you experience any issues while running the tool, please copy-paste the console output into a text file and send to support@ultraleap.com.
Once it has completed, unplug and replug your Leap Motion Controller 2. The camera orientation should be fixed and hand tracking should now work.
